another virus

I’ve just got some links from my friends through yahoo messenger, most of them ’sez something like this.

Do you realize who is in this image: http://thecoolpics.net/who.jpg . Just think for a moment and tell me soon

Not just that, her/his yahoo messenger status also had something like that.

Somehow I had a bad feeling about this but I encourage myself to click the link. It will redirect the file to http://survey-sales.com/ipn/transactions/index2.html, and this is the result :

High security alert!!!

You are not permitted to download the file “index2.html” because it is infected with the virus “JS/Inor.A!tr.dldr”.

URL = http://survey-sales.com/ipn/transactions/index2.html

File quarantined as: .

Well, fortigate has done a great job.

Apache 2 + php 5.1.2 + mysql 5.0.18 + XP Pro

I found weird things today, PHP + MySQL installation should works fine on XP Pro SP2, but somehow I can’t even connect PHP to MySQL. I’ve check the whole system configuration, from PHP handler on Apache configuration, PHP configuration, MySQL extension, and the MySQL server itself, but nothing happen. After googling on the *net, I know that I’m not alone. Some clue on MySQL forum told me to set-up PHPRC on global windows environment variables to PHP root (in my case c:\php) and restart the whole server. Guess what ? the problem still happen, bl**dy h*ll!!

Somehow I had an intuition, I try copying file libmysql.dll on windows directory (on my system it’s c:\windows), and it works ! Hmm, looks like something wrong with the directory reference or something like that. I don’t have a time to do further research about this problem at this moment.

Perhaps some of you might thinking about how obsolete I am for using old version applications. Neahhh… tested platform for my apps is more than enough. I don’t need the newer version for now, perhaps later.

Thinkpad is cool

It’s been a half year since I bought my current IBM Thinkpad. It’s not new when I bought it, but it still works superb.

I don’t know what makes me fall in love with this machine. Compared to Eri’s VAIO, my laptop screen is awful, compared to Egar’s Ferrari, mine will lose on speed test, compared to Jindol’s laptop, my graphic card is running like a turtle, compared to Riza’s laptop, my laptop’s speaker sounds like a crap, compared to Phil’s Ibook, mine are not that stylish. So, what makes me choose this IBM Thinkpad R51 ?

Until now, I haven’t found any problem with this great stuff. Even it’s not a high end machine, but it has an excellent compatibility and stability. Everytime I had a problem setting up any applications which might related with hardware issues, all I need to do just googling the net, and guess what ? Most of my problem already solved. Thanks to every Thinkpad users all over the world.

O yeah, do I need to mention about original MS Windows XP Professional installed on this machine? Definitely Yes !!

You can also find a bunch of application / OS which are already tested and certified on Thinkpad. You name it, Ubuntu ? Debian ? FreeBSD? MS Windows ? Photoshop ? Notepad ? cmd.exe ? ls ? :p

For a my daily job it’s quite enough, I don’t need that ultra extreme powerful mobile machine to do my jobs. I won’t use my laptop to render full animatic HD movie with extra blink-blink effects on my laptop. Sometimes I played MotoGP with this baby and its still running smoothly.

One thing I need to consider when I decide to buy another one is size. Core duo with 12″ screen, less than 2 kg (full package) and at least 4 hours battery life will suits on me. Last time I check Sim Lim Singapore, Lenovo Thinkpad X60 meets that requirements. Anybody would like to give me some ? :p
